Akshaya Avril Tucker, Production Manager

Akshaya Avril Tucker is a composer and cellist from Massachusetts whose works have been performed in New York City by the New Parnassus Ensemble, at Brown University, Smith College, the University of Massachusetts Amherst, and the University of Texas at Austin. She has a BA in Music from Brown University and is currently pursuing her MM in Composition at UT Austin, and studies with Donald Grantham, Russell Pinkston and Steven Slawek (sitar). She received two Brown University grants to study Hindustani music in India, and in 2015 she received a Brown University Distinguished Senior Thesis Award for her work on Gyaan Kar Dekh/Perceive with Love, a collaboration of Western Classical music, Hindustani music and Odissi dance. Akshaya has been studying Odissi dance with Ranjanaa Devi since 1999, and Classical Indian music (on cello) since 2014, and her work is greatly inspired by the musical and dance traditions of South Asia.
